Yosua 2:22

2:22 They went ¹  to the hill country and stayed there for three days, long enough for those chasing them ²  to return. Their pursuers ³  looked all along the way but did not find them. ⁴ 

Yosua 4:9

4:9 Joshua also set up twelve stones ⁵  in the middle of the Jordan in the very place where the priests carrying the ark of the covenant stood. They remain there to this very day.

Yosua 8:9

8:9 Joshua sent them away and they went to their hiding place ⁶  west of Ai, between Bethel ⁷  and Ai. ⁸  Joshua spent that night with the army. ⁹

[2:22]  ³ tn Heb “the ones chasing them.” This has been rendered as “their pursuers” in the translation to avoid redundancy with the preceding clause.

[4:9]  ⁵ tn Here “also” has been supplied in the translation to make it clear (as indicated by v. 20) that these are not the same stones the men took from the river bed.
